This past weekend, NBC Chicago reported that Nursing Home Resident Dead After Confrontation with Police: “A 95-year-old resident of an Illinois nursing home died early Saturday, hours after being shocked with a Taser and bean bag rounds in a confrontation with police.”

The Atlantic described a palliative care success story in Helping Make the Best of the End of Life.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has been receiving a lot of attention from publicity campaigns, often described as SNAP challenges, in which politicians try to live at or below minimum wage for a set period of time. More than 47 million people participate in the SNAP food stamp program.  Earlier this month, the Republican majority passed a generous farm subsidy bill that stripped out the food stamp program.
